Largo

Largo was named after Lake Largo which at the time was the largest lake in the area. Today, Lake Largo no longer exists as it was drained. Largo was originally settled by citrus farmers but a hard freeze in the early 1960's sestroyed many of the trees and the groves were sold off to developers who built homes for a growing population.

oday, Largo is a community of more than 74,000 residents and is a little bigger then 16 square miles. It is the third largest city in Pinellas County. Largo is centrally located in Pinellas County. It is south of Clearwater and north of Seminole and Pinellas Park. It touches the Intracoastal on the southwest and Tampa Bay on the northeast. The city has lots of lakes, with the largest being Taylor Lak.
